Philippe Mahut (French pronunciation: [fi.lip ma.y]; 4 March 1956 – 8 February 2014)[2][3] was a French professional footballer who played as a defender.
From 1974 to 1993, Mahut played for seven football clubs – all of them in his native France – and scored 30 goals in 654 competitive club matches.[4] He earned nine international caps for the France national team during the early 1980s.
Mahut was described as a "sturdy defender" with "a heading ability above average".[5]
